Lafangey Parinday Free Download

Movie Review: Lafangey Parindey; Star cast: Neil Nitin Mukesh, Deepika Padukone, Manish Chaudhary and Piyush Mishra; Director: Pradeep Sarkar; Rating: *** – Watchable stuff.

August 20, 2010: Pradeep Sarkar after delivering a critical and box office success with his debut feature Parineeta had faltered in his next one, Laga Chunari Mein Daag but with Lafangey Parindey he has managed to get back in form and has succeeded in giving masala entertainer. The only thing that goes against it are the predictable plot points and the slow pace. But despite its few flaws LP is still worth a watch for its unusual lead pair Neil and Deepika and good direction aided by nice music.

Nandan Kamthekar aka One Shot Nandu (Neil) works for Usmaan bhai (Piyush Mishra) as a fighter for his betting games. In the Tilakwadi basti that he lives in Mumbai, also stays Pinky Palkar (Deepika) an ace skating dancer who aspires to win a TV reality show contest and break out of the lower middle class life. A botched up job for Usmaan bhai along with his mentor Anna (Kay Kay Menon) leads to a big mess for Nandu. Pinky’s life changes over night too as all her dreams get crashed with her accident that leaves her blind. Circumstances lead to Nandu helping out Pinky and teaming with her to participate in the talent hunt show which she always dreamt of winning. How it changes all equations for Nandu and the people connected to him forms the rest of the plot!

Pradeep Sarkar should be commended for opting for a completely different genre to the female oriented subjects he has been adept at. However, Sarkar has ensured his female lead’s character is pretty strong enough. The Mumbai chawl setting appears authentic and so do the characters inhabiting it. The action and skate dance sequences have been imaginatively shot. The songs too don’t act as speed breakers. The only major flaw of the enterprise is the sense of déjà vu one gets of films like Jeetendra – Hema Malini starrer Kinara and Aamir Khan’s Ghulam. But then that is a minor flaw, as the screenplay is infused with plenty of good moments that need to be experienced on screen.

Neil Nitin Mukesh convincingly adapts himself as a Mumbai tapori despite his suave persona befitting a rich dude. Deepika Padukone is only getting better with each film and with this one she treads successfully on a difficult character graph. She is effortless in her blind girl act and very good in emotional scenes. Piyush Mishra as the bad ass don is super cool in his act and is fun to watch mouth some really acidic lines laced with humour. Kay Kay Menon in a short but significant part is effective. All the actors playing Neil’s friends are very good. Manish Choudhary (last seen in Rocket Singh) playing a Police investigating officer delivers a fine act too. The two kids of Tilakwadi are hilarious to watch, especially Ameya Pandya in his tapori kid act.

R.Anandh’s music is fresh with Man Lafanga and Dhatad Dhatad being the pick of the lot. N. Natarajan Subramaniam’s cinematography is good and captures the dark night Mumbai sequences well. Editing by Sanjib Dutta however could have been better as the film drops pace in regular intervals. Bosco Caesar’s choreography is innovative.

Do give Lafangey Parindey a chance. It is definitely not a waste of time. Its characters succeed in endearing themselves to you. It may not be an ace but its still a quality product from Yash Raj Fims and marks the return to form of Pradeep Sarkar.

DABANGG is an expensive film

Unlike many film makers today who try to underplay the money spent on the making of a film and build a perception to make a look reasonably priced lest it gets under the scrutiny once the box office collections are out, Arbaaz Khan is not shying away from admitting the high price tag that his debut production DABANGG carries.

“Yes, DABANGG is an expensive film but when you invest in a project like this where you have total confidence, you don’t hold back on spending money at the right places. Jab itni pyaar se picture banaayi jaati hai tab kharche ke baare mein nahi socha jaata,” says Arbaaz who is visibly quite fond of his first born baby and is going all out to make it the most talked about film this season.

“We come from the film family and we did all that was necessary for the script to come alive on screen,” says Arbaaz, “Yes, the budget was high here but we had planned for that. Just imagine; when a regular movie is shot in 60 days in entirety, just the canning of action sequences in DABANGG cost us 60 days. This pretty much confirms how big this film is and the canvas that it has been shot.”

The result was an exciting product which is said to be commanding a good price in the industry today.

“You heard it right,” Arbaaz gets smiling here, “The market has improved today and we are lucky in that aspect. The film is commanding the price it deserves. We didn’t compromise on the making of the film. Jab itni mehnat karo toh right vibes toh aati hi hain. We are confident about what we have made and naturally, the investors too are taking cue from our confidence.”

Well, all that one wants now is the audience getting the same confidence in the film as well once it hits the screen on 10th September.

Deepika kisses Neil in public

Deepika Padukone and Neil Nitin Mukesh not only shared an awesome chemistry in reel but they shared some romantic moment in the public also. During the promotional event of their latest flick, ‘Lafangey Parindey’ at Ghatkopar mall in Mumbai, Deepika turned to Neil and planted a kiss on his cheeks. The camerapersons present during the event did not miss the chance and immediately captured the intimate moment of Neil and Dips.

They interacted with their fans, posed for photographs and signed autographs. The interactive session of Neil-Deepika with their fans was limited but the duo filled up the moment with fun. Both the actors have a high expectation from the film where Neil is playing a tough fighter and Deepika a blind girl, who dances with perfection on skates.

Well, the way they went crazy and flaunted their likings for each other in public, they are right to be called, ‘Lafangey…’

Yadav is in jail, but he's keen to see 'Dabangg

The song number ‘munni badnaam’ from ‘Dabangg’ and the catchy promos have already whipped up interest for the Salman Khan starrer from famous and infamous quarters.

Case in point: Rajesh Ranjan aka Pappu Yadav.

Apparently, Sood met up with the jailbird politician to get all the nuances right for his role of a Bihari politician in ‘Dabangg’.

Apparently, the actor visited Bihar in July 2010 and met up with Yadav, who offered to host him and take him on a tour of Bihar for him to get a first hand taste of the badlands.

States Sood in a tabloid quote, “I don’t know too much about Bihar politics. But meeting up with Yadav was certainly interesting. He was quite excited about ‘Dabangg’ and offered to show me around Bihar state and meet up with his colleagues.”

Adds he,”I have imitated Yadav’s ‘look’ and body language in ‘Dabangg’. Now that he wants to watch the film in jail, I’m going to speak to Arbaaz Khan and the jail authorities about it.”

Priyanka Chopra replaces Madhuri Dixit

Indian origin US filmmaker Krishna Shah, is planning to cast Bollywood stunner, Priyanka Chopra in the lead role in a biopic on late prime minister Indira Gandhi. The film will be titled ‘Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story’. It is gonna be a big budget flick divided into two parts. Shah is working on the casting with Academy Award winning make-up artiste Jenny Shircore.

Shircore believes that Priyanka is the only Bollywood actress whom she can make look like Indira Gandhi after some prosthetic work on her face, Shircore says Priyanka’s face matches that of the late prime minister.

Shah said in a statement, “Yes, I am in conversation with Jenny who thinks that Priyanka is the one who can fit in the character of Indira, but it will be too premature to talk about casting as we have not approached anybody as yet,”

Shah is reportedly also in conversation with other actors like Albert Finney, Emily Watson, Tom Hanks and Tommy Lee Jones to play other characters in the film.

There are several changes made in the script of the movie.

“The script has been reworked after I got my hands on Richard Nixon’s personal tapes related to the 1971 Bangladesh War. My research has changed the script a lot and now we are looking at casting an appropriate face for Indira Gandhi’s character,”
said Shah.

Waow!! Now this flick sounds super interesting. I am sure Piggy Chops will do an amazing job.
